History of "The Home"
In 1865 'The Home for the Friendless' was organized for the dependents of Civil War veterans and for women of limited resources.

Conceived by a small group of Presbyterian women, The Auburn Female Bible Society, The Home has operated without interruption since that time. Although the times have brought about many changes, the spirit remains its most distinguishing characteristic. The mellowing brick building on Grant Avenue houses an active, friendly and enthusiastic "family."

Known today by many as "The Home," it has the capacity to serve as home to 58 residents, both male and female. The facility is licensed through The New York State Dept. of Health and is a Non-Profit Organization.
